Peer Review Process
The editor will review submitted manuscripts. The editor will determine whether the manuscript aligns with the scope and focus of the journal and the reviewer's expertise. This initial activity usually takes 2-8 weeks.
If your manuscript has passed the initial review and received approval for publication, the editorial team will send information by email or via OJS for the payment process. A letter of acceptance (LOA) will be issued upon completion of payment. The time required varies.
Submissions that pass the initial review will be assigned to at least two reviewers (double-blind peer review). Based on the review, the editor will first make editorial decisions. There are three possible editorial decisions: (1) the manuscript is accepted, (2) accepted with revision, or (3) rejected. This activity takes 4-12 weeks.
The time to reach a final decision depends on several factors, including the number of reviews rotated and the author's level of perception. Typically, the time frame of delivery is an average of 3-8 months for a final decision.
The total turnaround time for publishing a manuscript depends (in addition to the abovementioned factors) on the submission date, the journal's publication schedule, the authors' adherence to the publication guidelines, etc. On average, Jurnal Kesehatan reviews and accepts submissions after 3-8 months and then publishes.
