ABSTRACT : Factors Correlating With Nutritional Status Of Under Five Years Old Children In The Region Of Society Health Center Of Margototo, Metro Kibang Subdistric, Lampung Timur Distric. This study is aimed to determine the nutritional status of under five years old children as well as to identify the correlation between risk factors and nutritional status on the region of society health center of Margototo, Metro Kibang Subdistric, Lampung Timur Distric, in 2012.
The design of this study was analytical with case control study. The population of this study is all the under five years old children in the region of society health center of Margototo in year 2012 with the amount 1767 children. And as the sample of this study is 160 under five years children. Total sampling is used toward malnutrition under five years children which is 80 children and accidential sampling toward normal nutritional status under five years children. Nutritional status is measured with indicator weigh for age and also as dependent variable. While infection disease,nutritional intake,mother knowledge, parental income, children care practices as independent variable in this study. The instruments are : weigh-beam, microtoise, software WHO anthro, nutrisurvey, questionaries, and recall sheets. Correlation among variables was then analyzed using chi-square test with believe degree 95%.
Based on the chi-square test, infection disease, intake energy, carbohidrat and fat has p value=0,000. Intake protein has p value = 0,003, parental income has p value = 0,007, and concluded there is significant correlation with the nutritional status. While mother knowledge has p value= 0,057, and children care practices has p value=1,000, so can concluded have no significant correlation with nutritional status.

Abstrak : Faktor-Faktor Yang berhubungan dengan Status Gizi pada balita Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Margototo kecamatan metro Kibang Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Hasil RISKESDAS tahun 2010 menunjukkan balita kurang gizi secara nasional adalah sebesar 17,9%, dengan 4,9% gizi buruk, prevalensi balita pendek 35,6%, dan prevalensi gizi kurus 13,3%. Untuk provinsi lampung prevalensi gizi kurang 13,4%, balita pendek 36,3% dan balita gizi kurus 13,9%.dan prevalensi gizi kurang di puskesmas Margototo 2.14%. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan status gizi balita di wilayah kerja puskesmas Margototo Kecamatan Metro Kibang kabupaten Lampung Timur. Jenis penelitian analitik dengan rancangan Case control. Subjek penelitian adalah ibu yang memiliki balita dengan jumlah sampel 160 balita dengan status gizi kurang dan status gizi baik. Varibel yang diteliti status Gizi balita (BB/U), penyakit infeksi, asupan makan, pengetahuan ibu, pendapatan keluarga dan pola asuh. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Chi square.hasil penelitian menunjukkan proporsi balita gizi kurang menurut indikator BB/U sebanyak 4,77% dari populasi balita. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik didapat ada hubungan yang bermakna antara penyakit infeksi, asupan energi, asupan karbohidrat, asupan protein dengan nilai p=0,000, sedangkan variabel pendapatan orang tua, pengetahuan ibu dan pola asuh tidah ada hubungan yang bermakna dengan status gizi. Dari kesimpulan diatas peneliti menyarankan, untuk mengurangi kejadian penyakit infeksi, petugas kesehatan dapat lebih meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang bagaimana mencegah dan menanggulangi penyakit infeksi tersebut. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas asupan makanan pada balita, disarankan untuk petugas gizi dan kader dapat bersama-sama menggali informasi tentang bahan-bahan makanan yang tersedia di masyarakat setempat kemudian membuat resep dan mengolah bahan makanan tersebut menjadi produk-produk makanan untuk balita dengan kandungan gizi yang lengkap. Selanjutnya resep tersebut dapat diajarkan kepada ibu balita dan diaplikasikannya.
