Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia caused by a decrease in insulin secretion. Sambiloto leaves (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. Ex Ness) and bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) are types of plants that are used as regulators of blood sugar levels. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness and effective comparative doses in the combination of sambiloto leaf extract (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. Ex Ness) and bitter melon (Momordica charantia L) on alloxan-induced Wistar white rats. This study is experimental research with a pre and post-control group design, using a sample of 24 subjects. The data analysis in this study employed normality and homogeneity tests, obtaining a significance result of p>0.05. The development of the ANOVA test revealed a significant value of p<0.05, indicating an influence on the administration of a combination extract of sambiloto leaves (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Wall. Ex Ness) and bitter melon (Momordica charantia L), specifically at a concentration ratio of SA: PA 50:50. To observe significant differences among groups, a post hoc test was conducted, which yielded significant results indicating significant differences in blood glucose levels between the regular group and the opposing group, standard group and positive group, standard group and SA: PA 25 group; then, the average group with the SA: PA 75:25 and SA: PA 50:50 groups. This study concludes that the combination of SA: PA extract in a ratio of 50:50 has a higher potential to reduce blood sugar levels in alloxan-induced Wistar white rats.References
